Well our trip to Greenland has been really fun,we've seen so much cool stuff that I really don't know where to start.I know! How about that plump lady that gave us so much information.[and happened to have the best hot chocolate recipe in the world]she told us the answers to all of our questions[of course most of them were about skiing.]She told us that there are some mountains called the Fells, and that they're 700-1,500 meters tall!We learned that their ski months are from Feb-Apr,I think its because in the other months, it's to cold.It just happened to be that a big cross-country ski race is coming up in less than 3 days, it's supposed to be the toughest one in the world. We'll all have to wish Eleanore luck while I'm sitting on the side lines just cheering her on!The plump lady [who's name is unpronounceable ]told us that in the summer time you can still ski.Looks like theres an endless winter [but technically summer] coming our way!
see you all soon!

Anna, it is such a pleasure to read your note home to all of us on the sidelines as you experience with your friend Eleanore the adventures of the north. I love that you'll always remember Greenland through the warm comforts of the "plump old lady." When I think of my months in Norway (just next door!), I think of the hot chocolate my friend Bord made me from creamy milk, real chocolate and sugar. It was still dark out and yet it was morning. I am glad you're cheering Eleanore on in that race. Wow. I'm going to have to look it up! Carolyn
ReplyDeleteAnna, Thank you for mentioning so much! I totally agree about the best hot chocolate in the world!! It was soooooooooo good!!!
ReplyDeleteOh by the way, I have an idea of where we could go for breakfast this morning...
Why am I writing this when you are standing right next to me?
See you when I turn around!

Where are you going for breakfast? Anna, I think that you might be better off actually DOING the race, or you are going to freeze your rear end off, and I think that will ruin your trip!! Also, what kind of food does one eat when they are in Greenland? Adios (in Greenland language!!)
